Marisol Gutierrez

My name is Marisol Gutierrez. I am the mother of one beautiful daughter. I have been a Baby Signs(R) Believer since I read Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn's book, Baby Signs: How to Talk to Your Baby Before Your Baby Can Talk, after the birth of my daughter. My husband and I were thrilled at being able to communicate with our daughter about her needs and interests before she was able to talk. We were so thankful for the many moments that using Baby Signs(R) gave us to bond with and learn from our daughter. Since then, we have been enthusiastic users and promoters of the Baby Signs(R) program.

I am a PROUD stay-at-home. I have a BA in Liberal Arts and possess a Teacher's Certification (K-8). Prior to be a mom, I taught Bilingual/Bicultural Kindergarden for four years. My combined educational background and family experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the research, development and use of the Baby Signs(R) program. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share this program with other families as an Independent Certified Instructor. Once you experience the wonderful benefits of using the Baby Signs(R) Program, I know that you'll be a Baby Signs(R) Believer, too! If you're interested in taking a class or receiving a promotional presentation for your business or organization, please feel free to contact me by phone or via email.

The buzz word is literacy. All around we hear about the importance of literacy. Parents are told to read, read, read to their children, without much formal instruction on what this means. We are even teaching our children about the alphabet before they can talk! We hear about the No Child Left Behind program, and getting government funding for innovative programs these days usually means proving that your program relates to literacy development.
